Casual, Yet Festive Holiday Outfit Idea

There are so many events to attend in December, aren’t there? Aside from Christmas itself, you may have multiple holiday parties, school functions, and rounds of friends and family to visit. With so many events, it’s typical that you will need some festive holiday outfits to wear. During a visit to the Walmart home office earlier this fall, we were shown a variety of holiday apparel to help us celebrate the season.

While the ugly Christmas sweater trend is not one I’ve ever participated in, I’ll admit that some of the looks (shown above) were actually cute! Even still, Florida weather isn’t very accommodating for sweaters and coats (even in December), so though these looks may be cute, they won’t work for any upcoming holiday events. However, I’m glad to say that there were plenty of red clothes at my local Walmart, allowing me to put together a festive (casual) outfit that will work for Christmas Eve with my family!

Casual, Yet Festive Holiday Outfit Idea

Festive Casual Holiday Outfit

Since our Christmas Eve celebration is usually spent with family (whether at home or a relative’s home), we don’t typically wear fancy attire. A nice blouse with dark jeans works for me, but I do try to wear red along with the kids. I found a cute red fly-away top with silver accents that I knew would work great with the Faded Glory black jeggings I already own and the ballet flats I recently found at my Walmart! It’s a comfortable outfit for the fun of Christmas Eve, but still festive and nice for any photos. I went ahead and strolled by the jewelry section and loved this tassel necklace that was only $5! I found it in silver, which definitely helped to complete the look.

Self Care After Holiday Fun

Something that’s important to remember as you attend multiple holiday parties and events this month, is to be sure you don’t forgo your evening beauty routine. I know that it’s tempting to head straight to bed after a long night of fun, but I’ve learned that it’s a huge mistake to forget to clean the makeup off your face! That’s why I love makeup remover towelettes to help me clean my face at night without too much fuss. It doesn’t take a long time and you can head to bed makeup-free!

What does your holiday style look like – fancy or casual?
