With Valentine’s Day coming up this weekend, I hope you’ll get a chance to dress up and head out for a fun date night with your husband or significant other so you can enjoy an evening alone without the kids! While I know that Valentine’s Day isn’t just a couple’s holiday and can easily be celebrated as a family (trust me, we do this too), it is nice to take some time alone as a couple. We don’t have easy access to a babysitter these days, so unfortunately, date nights for my husband and I are not a normal occurrence. In fact, we don’t yet have plans for Valentine’s Day and may end up getting creative with a mid-week daytime date while the kids are at school or perhaps an in-home date night once the kids are in bed. That’s why I’m sharing a casual makeup idea for such a date, one that would work for a daytime date or a casual in-home date night with your loved one. Really, this makeup look would work for wearing all day long, so you’d be ready to go from day to night!
Casual Date (Day or Night) Makeup Idea
Recently, I’ve been using the FLOWER BB Cream ($13.63 at Walmart) on an almost daily basis to help even out my skin tone and feel more “put-together” without the need for full make-up. (If you haven’t heard of the FLOWER beauty brand, it’s a line of cosmetics, fragrances, and more by Drew Barrymore that’s exclusively carried in Walmart stores and on Walmart.com!) I like that the FLOWER BB Cream doesn’t feel heavy on my face and doesn’t look caked on. It really doesn’t seem like I’m wearing anything, but it does provide some coverage and evens out my skin a bit. It’s perfect for daily wear, yet would work great for a casual date at home or during the day while the kids are at school! After all, chances are you don’t want to put on a full face of make-up for a casual date to the movies or brunch with your loved one, right?
In addition to the BB Cream, try dabbing on a bit of blush, like the FLOWER Creme Blush ($7.98) that I’ve been using. I like that I can quickly apply it with my fingers and don’t need to break out my makeup brushes. To complete your look, you can use the FLOWER Eyeshadow Chubby to add some color to your eyes and FLOWER Lip Tint for some lip color. Both are easy to apply and convenient for travel!
With just a few makeup products, you can easily put together a casual date makeup look for a relaxed time with your significant other. While you can definitely add to this makeup look for a more extravagant night on the town, it’s perfect just the way it is for when you want to take your day-to-day makeup-free look up a level!
