3 Must-Have Items for Your Summer Beauty Routine

July 23, 2016 By Melanie Edwards Leave a Comment

The summer heat can be downright unbearable, especially here in Florida, where we have temperatures near or around 100 degrees daily! The sun is brutal and can seriously damage your skin, sometimes causing heat rashes.

That’s why we stay protected whenever we head out for the day, even for short shopping trips, but especially for longer days out and when heading to the pool or beach. Personally, I have three items I like to keep on-hand during the summer to help protect against the sun, all of which are super affordable and easy to keep in your purse, beach bag, or car!

3 Must-Have Items for Your Summer Beauty Routine

1. Face Lotion with SPF

I use face lotion every day after washing my face, so I make sure to purchase one with a decent SPF. Moisturizing is a must, so why not add a little sunscreen to your lotion to protect your face?

2. Sunscreen Stick

Since sunscreen is so important for protecting your skin from the sun, I like to carry a sunscreen stick in my purse or in the car. It makes it super easy to apply to the face and neck, and helps the kids apply sunscreen while on the go!

3. CC Cream with SPF

For days when I want to wear a little makeup, but don’t want to apply a full face of regular makeup, CC cream works pretty great. Similar to the face lotion, a CC cream with a good SPF is wonderful for the summer months, helping to protect from the sun while providing coverage.

The summer months typically require a slight change in your beauty routine, but with a couple of affordable items, you can easily protect your skin from the blazing sun. Don’t forget to grab a cute refillable water bottle while you’re there – drinking lots of water during the summer is another great way to keep your skin healthy!

What changes do you make to your summer beauty routine?
