My husband and I have been fans of the Star Wars movies since we were young and now get to share that excitement with our own kids! When episodes 1-3 were released, our kids were not yet born, so it’s fun to share the fun of anticipating a Star Wars movie release with them! We’ve been showing them episodes 1-6 little by little and of course, they love seeing all of the merchandise in stores. We can’t wait to see The Force Awakens when it releases next month – on my husband’s birthday!
One other major Star Wars release coming up prior to the movie is the launch of the video game, Star Wars Battlefront, tomorrow Tuesday, November 17th. However, you can get a sneak peek at the game and even play it yourself by visiting a Walmart store tonight! That’s right – Walmart is hosting a Star Wars Battlefront event where you can play the video game prior to its release date! (They had this over the weekend too, but you still have time tonight.) Star Wars Battlefront Game Release Fun
EA, the developer of Star Wars Battlefront, is allowing a sneak peek into the game by providing customers like us a chance to play local co-op battle maps that are available on the actual game release. This is exclusive to about 3,000 Walmart stores nationwide – search to find a store near you! If your store is having a Star Wars Battlefront pre-release event, you’ll be able to try the game tonight (and pre-order) during the times listed below:
- 8:00 p.m. – 12:01 a.m. Eastern, Tuesday, Nov. 17th
- 7:00 p.m. – 11:01 p.m. Central, Monday, Nov. 16th
- 6:00 p.m. – 10:01 p.m. Mountain, Monday, Nov. 16th
- 5:00 p.m. – 9:01 p.m. Pacific, Monday, Nov. 16th
Star Wars Battlefront will allow Star Wars fans new and old to fight for the Rebellion or Empire and join Star Wars battles in various scenes inspired by the films. There are a variety of multiplayer matches (up to 40 players!) and challenges that can be played solo, split-screen, or via online co-op. With recreations of iconic Star Wars planets, characters, weapons, and vehicles, Star Wars Battlefront is sure to be a great way for fans like you to (im)patiently await the release of The Force Awakens film next month!
