Summer Party Idea: Orangesicle & Key Lime Cupcakes!

Summer Party Idea: Orangesicle & Key Lime Cupcakes

{Sponsored content}

If you’re hosting a summer party, or simply looking for an excuse to bake with the kids this summer, then you might like these new Pillsbury summer flavors! To join their existing Pink Lemonade baking mix, Pillsbury is also featuring Orangesicle and Key Lime flavors of cake and cookie mixes this summer. We had a chance to try them out through the Walmart Moms program and had fun making colorful cupcakes with the new flavors!

Pillsbury Orangesicle & Key Lime Summer Flavors

We received complimentary samples of the new flavors, including 1 each of the Key Lime Cookie Mix, Key Lime Cake Mix, Key Lime Frosting, Orangesicle Cookie Mix, Orangesicle Cake Mix, and Orangesicle Frosting, all of which are available at Wamart. Though we haven’t made the cookies yet, we gave each flavor a try by making Orangesicle and Key Lime cupcakes. The colors come out really pretty and the kids enjoyed their cupcakes, with Orangesicle being their preferred flavor.

Baking Orangesicle & Key Lime Cupcakes

They were easy to make – as with most baking mixes, you simply mix the cake mix with eggs, water, and oil. I like this since I’m not used to a lot of baking, plus it’s easy enough that my daughter can help! She loves helping me measure, pour, and stir, and thought the colors of the Orangesicle and Key Lime batters were pretty.

I think these Pillsbury summer flavors would be great for a summer birthday party, summer picnic, or just a fun summer pool party with kids! They look pretty and combine well with summer decor, plus kids will enjoy the fun flavors. You can even dress them up a bit by adding shredded coconut over the Key Lime cupcakes, or mixing pineapple into the Orangesicle cake mix! I think we’re going to try a similar combination when we make the cookies!

What flavor cupcakes do your kids enjoy the most?

    Where did you find the key lime cupcake mix? I have only found the pink lemonade. I am dying to try the key lime!

      They actually sent me the samples directly, but you should be able to find all the flavors at Walmart!
