I know plenty of you are fans of wine and enjoy a relaxing glass a few times each week. Though I’m not a big fan of wine in general, there is one type of wine that I’ve found I truly like. It’s pretty much the only wine I drink – Moscato. I love the sweet, fruity taste of Moscato, which is just perfect for my palette. The Gallo Family Vineyards have been family-owned and operated since 1933. They offer a wide variety of wines – from Moscato and Riesling to Merlot and Hearty Burgundy – all at affordable prices, since the Gallo family has a goal and history of making wine easy and accessible for all to enjoy. Now, let’s talk more about the Gallo Moscato wines, specifically:
White Moscato
My favorite out of all Moscato wines, White Moscato is sweet and full of fruit flavors. The Gallo Family Vineyards White Moscato has hints of peach, honey, and ripe citrus, making it a perfectly refreshing wine. White Moscato also makes a great dessert wine, so try it out after dinner!
Red Moscato
Described by Gallo Family Vineyards as a great “cheese and wine” pairing, the Red Moscato holds onto the peach and citrus flavors of Moscato, but adds a berry finish. I did not enjoy this one myself, but I’ve never found any red wine that I enjoy, so I’m not a fair judge. If you’re a fan of red wines, try this one chilled and pair it with Gorgonzola cheese, per the Gallo family’s suggestion!
Pink Moscato
Sharing the fruity flavors of the White and Red Moscato wines, this Pink Moscato also has a hint of berry and orange. I was pleasantly surprised, but did like the Pink Moscato, as well! The Gallo Family Vineyards describe their Pink Moscato as being “a bit different,” perfect for when you’re in the mood for a little fun and adventure. It’s also best served chilled, as all their Moscatos, and will make a nice pairing with dessert.
Entertaining with Gallo Moscato
As you can see, any of the three (or all!) Gallo Family Moscato wines will work great for your next get-together! It might be fun to set out a variety of fruits next to your wine bar, so guests can mix their preferred Moscato with fresh fruit. Or, mix it up with Moscato! Using a cocktail shaker, you can create a variety of mixed drinks using your Gallo Moscato wines! You can even cook with Moscato! One of my favorite party appetizers is a simple fruit and cheese platter. It can’t be any easier to make and will go great with all your Gallo Family Moscato wines! Simply arrange a variety of your favorite cheeses (try Cheddar, Gouda, Gorgonzola, Brie, and Monterey Jack) along with fresh fruit, such as grapes, berries, pineapple, and apples. Your guests will love nibbling on cheese and fruit as they sip on Moscato!
