Back to School Lunch Ideas: Easy Wraps & Roll-Ups for Kids {Giveaway}

July 26, 2013 By Melanie Edwards

Back to School Lunch Ideas: Easy Wraps & Roll-Ups for Kids

It’s hard to believe, but back to school season is already here; my girl starts school in just three weeks! While I still have back to school shopping to do for supplies and clothes, I’m also thinking of school lunch ideas for the coming year. I already have a ranch turkey burger slider bento lunch I can make for her, but together with my daughter, we came up with new ideas that my picky eater approved, using the complimentary Flatout Flatbread wraps we were sent!

First, I have to say that I liked the fact that these Flatout Flatbread wraps seem to fold a little easier than traditional tortillas I normally use for wraps. My daughter made her own roll-ups and had no problems creating them or folding them up. She actually came up with these combinations herself, and said she’d love eating them for lunch! I love how easy it is to make them and will definitely be adding them to her school lunch ideas menu. Plus, you can buy Flatout Flatbread Light Original and Multigrain wraps in packages of 2 at Sam’s Club for only $4.88 – so, you can easily buy 2 packages for a total of 4 packs of wraps, lasting you a whole month or longer. Since you can freeze a pack for up to 4 months, you don’t have to worry about the wraps going to waste!

Back to School Lunch Ideas: Easy Wraps & Roll-Ups for Kids

Peanut Butter & Banana Roll-ups

Ingredients:

  • Peanut butter
  • 1 banana, cut up
  • 1 wrap of your choosing, we used Flatout Flatbread Light Original

Spread peanut butter on a wrap, layer cut-up banana on top, roll up, then cut into small circles to create cute pinwheel roll-ups! *Tip: Use a toothpick to hold each pinwheel in place.

Easy Wraps & Roll-ups for Kids School Lunch

Strawberries & Cream Cheese Roll-ups

Ingredients:

  • Cream cheese, softened
  • 5-6 strawberries, cut into quarters
  • 1 wrap of your choosing, we used Flatout Flatbread Light Original

Spread cream cheese on a wrap, layer strawberries on top, roll up, then cut into small circles to create cute pinwheel roll-ups! *Tip: Use a toothpick to hold each pinwheel in place.

Ranch Chicken Nugget Wraps

Ingredients:

  • 3-4 chicken nuggets, already cooked/warmed
  • Shredded cheese
  • Ranch dressing
  • 1 wrap of your choosing, we used Flatout Flatbread Light Original

Layer chicken nuggets and shredded cheese on a wrap, spreading a bit of ranch dressing on top before folding up as a wrap. It would work best to provide the ranch dressing separately in the lunch box and allow your child to spread it on at lunch time so the wrap does not get soggy.

All of these wraps and roll-ups are simple to make with little time needed and are easy for the kids to eat at lunch time. You can combine them with fruit, veggies, or any number of side items for a great school lunch the kids are sure to enjoy.
