5 Baby Shower Gift Ideas New Parents Will Truly Appreciate {Giveaway}

Though my children have outgrown the baby stage – they’re 8 and 3 – those early baby days are still fairly fresh in my memory. Something I can still remember are some of the baby shower gifts we received and which were most useful to us as new parents. Now that I have experienced motherhood first-hand and know which baby items are truly necessary and which are just a nice plus, it’s hard not to look back on our baby registry list and laugh. Whenever I attend a baby shower or provide expecting parents with a gift, I try to think of those baby items we most used or those I wish I had. If you’re looking for baby shower gift ideas for a new mom, check out this list of baby items any new mom or dad would appreciate! Then, read on for a great giveaway of an Amazon gift card and Dr. Smith’s products!

5 Baby Shower Gift Ideas for New Parents

5 Baby Shower Gift Ideas for New Parents

  1. Diapers: Everyone knows that diapers are a necessity with babies, so receiving diapers as a gift is not only a great gift, it’ll also help the new parents save a little money! Whether the new parents choose disposable diapers or cloth diapers, providing them with a set of diapers to get them started will be much appreciated. Do be sure to ask them their preference (including the brand), so the diapers aren’t wasted!
  2. Diaper bag with essentials: Of course, to go with those new diapers, a nice diaper bag filled with baby essentials makes for a great gift! In addition to diapers, you can fill the diaper bag with diaper rash ointment (try the new Dr. Smith’s Diaper Rash Spray!), baby wipes, baby lotion, portable diaper changing pad, disposable diaper sacks, and anything else the new parents can use for a day out with baby.
  3. Meal delivery service: Providing new parents with a meal delivery service will surely be a welcome gift! With a newborn baby to care for, I remember sometimes feeling like dinner would never get on the table. A meal delivery service will help new parents focus their energy on caring for their baby without worrying about dinner.
  4. House cleaning service: Similarly, a house cleaning service is something I wish I would have gifted myself! When caring for a newborn, cleaning house is the last thing on a new parent’s mind. In fact, when baby is napping, there’s often an internal battle for new moms over getting more sleep and doing a little housework. With a gift of house cleaning service, new parents can relax a little more, thanks to you!
  5. Babysitting schedule: Setting up a routine schedule for babysitting is a great gift for new parents that also adds a very personal touch. For example, you could offer to babysit once a month so the new parents can have a regular date night. Or you could set up a babysitting schedule with friends and family, for helping the new parents get a little me-time during the week.
