Today is Do Something Nice Day, a day to take a little time to do a good deed or simply do something nice for others. Of course, we should strive to be nice every day, but taking advantage of this designated day is a great way to be sure we make the extra effort. Plus, it’s a great opportunity to share the kindness with our children and encourage them to do something nice for others! To get your family thinking of how easy it is to be kind and do a good deed, I’m sharing some simple ways kids can do something nice today (or any day). 15 Nice Things Kids Can Do for Do Something Nice Day

  1. Write a thank you note to their teacher.
  2. Play a game with their brother or sister (especially if a younger sibling).
  3. Do an extra chore at home (unprompted).
  4. Send a letter to their grandparent.
  5. Bring a snack to school to share with a friend (if allowed).
  6. Help a classmate.
  7. Bake cookies for a neighbor.
  8. Offer to help a neighbor. (i.e., walk their dog, rake some leaves, etc.)
  9. Volunteer (at school, local charity).
  10. Help teacher file or organize. (Be sure to ask first!)
  11. Read a book or story to younger brother or sister.
  12. Make breakfast (for self, siblings, parents, or whole family).
  13. Donate to a charity. (Doesn’t have to be money. It could be clothes or toys.)
  14. Give flowers to mom, teacher, or neighbor.
  15. Make a hand-made gift for a special person.
