Walt Disney World Opens a Polynesian Paradise

April 10, 2015 By Ricardo Escobar Leave a Comment

The Walt Disney World Resort offers guests a multitude of options when it comes to places to stay. Those who have made Disney a staple of their family vacations have the opportunity to join Disney Vacation Club, a vacation ownership program. Now Disney Vacation Club members can enjoy Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, a recent addition to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. This initial phase of the expansion offers guests plenty of amenities that will further enhance their stay at one of the original Walt Disney World resort hotels.

Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort transports guests to the South Pacific with the kind of theming one comes to expect from Disney. The lobby of the resort, located within the Great Ceremonial House, now houses a large Tiki statue. The theming of course continues inside the guest rooms, including the newly added deluxe studios, a spacious suite accommodating up to five guests. The little guests in your party will surely love the surprise awaiting them in the pull-down bed, a portrait of a scene from Lilo & Stitch.

Take a step outside with your kids and you’ll find Pineapple Lanai serving the can’t-miss Dole Whips, a soft-serve treat. Once the kids satisfy their sweet tooth, it is time for the adults to enjoy a libation at what will surely become one of the most popular hotspots in all of Walt Disney World. Already a fan favorite at Disneyland Resort, Trader’s Sam Grog Grotto ratchets up the Polynesian theming to another level. The tiki bar seats no more than approximately 50 people creating a cozy environment for the select few guests that can secure a reservation (and we do highly recommend a reservation to ensure entry into this night lounge). While Trader’s Sam does have an outdoor patio, we recommend spending time in the indoor bar to experience the ambience while you enjoy cocktails served in quirky souvenir vessels.

Disney's Polynesian Village Resort Bungalows

All these options are welcome additions to a classic Disney resort but the jewel of the crown is undoubtedly the Bora Bora Bungalows. Sitting atop Seven Seas Lagoon, these bungalows provide guests one of the most scenic views in the entire resort. In fact guests can simply walk out on their spacious deck for an unobstructed view of the nightly fireworks above Cinderella’s castle in the Magic Kingdom. No detail is left unattended as even the music from the show is piped into your bungalow giving you an immersive experience. You and seven other guests can enjoy this experience with the two bedrooms and two bathrooms which provides a very spacious accommodation for the extended family. The luxurious bungalow features an elegant kitchen, open area great room, and a modern bathroom complete with a rainfall shower head and a television inside the mirror. Yes — you read that right — there’s a television inside the mirror!

Disney's Polynesian Village Resort Bungalows

Walt Disney World Resort continues to offer magical destinations for families of all sizes. With the recently added Disney Villas & Bungalows, guests can now experience a taste of paradise in what could be the most magical offering in the entire resort.
