The holiday season is in full swing and with it comes gift-giving for young and old. For a number of disadvantaged families, though, this can be an especially difficult time. In celebration of #GivingTuesday and in the spirit of doing good this holiday season, we’re happy to share information from the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Florida. Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Florida provides a home away from home for families with critically ill children. Each year, the Ronald McDonald House helps on average 1,700 families using three Orlando area hospitals: Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, Florida Hospital for Children, and Nemours Children’s Hospital.
We have been honored to partner with the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Florida for their annual Appetite for the Arches that has been held the past three years. Though the event is currently on hiatus, there is still an opportunity to provide direct support to the Ronald McDonald House. Today, on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, we celebrate what is known as #GivingTuesday, a social media fueled awareness campaign to give back to charitable causes. LIMU, a long-time partner of Ronald McDonald House, has agreed to double any donations made today to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Florida (up to $10,000).
You may be wondering how much one should donate. While any amount will be appreciated, a donation made today of only $42 will cover the costs of housing one family at the Ronald McDonald House. Most families that use this service cannot contribute towards this cost. So by donating $42 you can provide a direct, measurable impact to one family in need.
This is a great opportunity to give back in the spirit of the season and have your contribution doubled. However, your donation has to be made TODAY, November 29, in order for your donation to have double the impact it normally would.
