Frozen butter beer? Yuck! … In the books I always imagined it as a warming drink for winter time – or a buttery tasting root beer — but never frozen… How did it taste?!

Tracy, the recipe is approved by the Harry Potter book author. They flew it
all the way to her to get her approval after going through many variations.
It tastes a bit like cream soda, it was definitely good, but not warm. The
frozen version, in my opinion, was better. But, plenty of the folks in our
      group preferred the non-frozen version.

I’ve heard lots of chatter about butterbeer but have no idea what it is! Now that I see it tastes like cream soda, I’d love to try it!

It’s more than just cream soda, of course. And the recipe is a secret, but
that’s the most familiar taste I could pick out when I tasted it. It was
very sweet, which is why I think I like the frozen one better; it made the
      sweetness milder.
