While I have no problem shopping in-store, sometimes the convenience of online shopping just can’t be beat. Even better is the convenience of ordering items online and being able to pick them up just a few hours later (or the next day) at my local store! Let me tell you just how great the Walmart Pickup service has been this holiday season for my family and why I think you should definitely take advantage of it for your holiday shopping!
3 Reasons Why Walmart Pickup Is a Holiday Life-Saver
1. Hide Christmas Gifts from Kids
We all know it can be difficult to do Christmas shopping for the kids if you have them with you at the store. With Walmart Pickup, you can shop online at your own leisure (perhaps after they go to sleep), then pick up the items when it’s convenient. Walmart Pickup will hold your order up to 7 days, so the kids never have to see what you buy!
2. Last-minute Shopping
Since many items are available for Pickup Today, you can get in some last-minute shopping for those holiday gifts you may have forgotten about or simply just hadn’t had a chance to purchase yet! As an example, last weekend my daughter had a birthday party to attend and with the busy week we had, I still needed to purchase the gift she was going to give her friend. I found a great gift that was available for Pickup Today, ordered it via the Walmart app and picked it up at my store a few hours later!
3. Share Holiday Responsibilities
The Walmart Pickup service allows you to designate another person to pick up your order, so it’s easy to share the holiday responsibilities! One person can do the online shopping, while another can pick up the items on the way home from work or while out running errands. After all, teamwork is what it’s all about, right?
Once you place your Walmart Pickup order and it’s ready to be picked up (whether it’s that same day or a few days later), the pick-up process is simple. You will be notified that your order is ready (via email and text, if you choose) and can then head to your designated Walmart store to pick up your items from the Pickup desk. You’ll need a photo ID and your order notification so the Pickup representative can lookup and retrieve your order. The whole process should take about 10 minutes, depending on how many customers are ahead of you! Isn’t that a great holiday time-saver?
