We all know it’s important to take care of ourselves, but it’s amazing how easy it is to neglect our health care. Whether it’s because of our busy schedules, lack of health insurance, or financial situations, it’s easy to go many months (or years) without visiting our doctors. Or perhaps you tend to only visit your doctor when you feel sick, but skip those well-visit appointments. I know that my husband and I make sure our children have their yearly physical appointments, but it requires extra effort on our part to get ourselves to the doctor.

10 Things You Can Do in Just 10 Minutes for a Healthier You

To help you get a head start on your healthy journey, you can head to a local Walmart this Saturday to take advantage of America’s Biggest Health Fair. With just 10 minutes, you can receive a variety of health services (for free!) and get back on track with your health care. In fact, with just 10 minutes, you can do a lot of things to help live a healthier life! I’m sharing 10 easy things you can do in under 10 minutes that will help your health, all to remind you to take #Just10 minutes to focus on you. After seeing our ideas (my kids came up with some too), read on to learn more about Walmart’s America’s Biggest Health Fair!

10 Easy Things You Can Do in 10 Minutes or Less For a Healthier You

  1. Have a silly dance break with your kids!
  2. Take a quick walk down your street.
  3. Do your favorite exercise (sit ups, push-ups, squats, etc.) during the first 10 minutes of your favorite show.
  4. Pre-cut a few vegetables to grab and use when packing your lunch or preparing dinner during the week.
  5. Pre-cook eggs to heat & eat easily in the mornings, ensuring you don’t skip breakfast.
  6. Play a game of tag with the kids before or after dinner.
  7. Run in place while waiting for dinner to be ready.
  8. Have fruit ready and available to grab as snacks throughout the day.
  9. Take time in the morning for yourself before starting your morning routine. (Journal, meditate, read, or enjoy a cup of tea/coffee in silence.)
  10. Drink a glass of water, then refill it for another drink later!

This Saturday, October 10 from 12 noon to 4 pm, a variety of Walmart stores across the nation will be holding America’s Biggest Health Fair, a chance for you to take just 10 minutes to work on your health! During America’s Biggest Health Fair, you can head to your local participating Walmart to receive FREE health screenings such as, blood glucose and blood pressure tests, vision screenings, and immunizations from licensed pharmacists. You’ll also be able to pick up health insurance information and product samples.

Surely you can spare just 10 minutes to ensure you’re on the right track to being healthy, right? Here are 5 ways attending America’s Biggest Health Fair at your Walmart this Saturday can help make your life healthier, all under 10 minutes!

  1. It takes 10 minutes or less to get your blood pressure taken and your blood glucose checked.
  2. It takes 10 minutes to get a flu shot and a pneumonia shot.
  3. In just 10 minutes, you can learn what the best health insurance options are for you.
  4. In just 10 minutes, you can get a vision screening and your eyeglasses cleaned and adjusted for free.
  5. And did you know that shopping at Walmart for just 10 minutes burns 35 calories?!
