Personal assistant. Am I right?

I know there’s been many times I’ve said, “If only I had a personal assistant to…” – you fill in the blank. From keeping up with work, the house, finances, our families, and the many many responsibilities we have every day, maintaining your sanity can be hard at times. We work hard to achieve work-life balance in our lives and we need every little bit of help we can get. In fact, a recent national study conducted by Hyatt Place found that the number of Americans struggling with work-life balance has nearly doubled to 71% since 2006.

It seems that one of the reasons we’re having a harder time finding our balance is that we’re no longer splitting up our various roles. The average 2010 American is instead multitasking all day, every day. Some interesting stats from the study:

  • 83% of Americans said they often take care of work matters from home
  • 59% stated that they often handle personal matters at work
  • 62% of respondents said they are constantly multitasking
  • On average, someone working from home is doing five tasks simultaneously

    This is an AWESOME contest.

    I would use a virtual assistant to manage my work emails, I think. Actually, I'm not really familiar with how a virtual assistant works. My fantasy assistant takes my clothes to the drycleaner – which I've never actually done myself.

    I really need a personal assistant to help handle our family finances. Husband and I are going to be tackling our family budget for the first time since we started our new jobs. I don't know, I just don't think we are equiped to handle such a task. We have some many hopes and plans for our future and want to make sure we are saving and spending wisely.

    Oh and we could really use a quick romantic getaway, it's been quite a while since we have had one.

    I'm gonna have a baby soon and will be too busy with the little one to work on some personal projects. A virtual assistant would be great for research and report writing. I also want to check out the Santa Fe, NM Hyatt Place when it opens in June.

    I need a personal assistant because life is hard when you are a single mother, who works full-time, goes to graduate school part-time and then has to come home and try to supplement my income online by doing various part-time jobs.

    I need a personal assistant because my kids are involved in 2 sports teams each, plus I'm working full-time, trying to keep up with the shopping, finances, cooking, & cleaning at home, plus working on my blog…so I'd very happily accept help with any of the above so that I can spend more time with my family instead of handling the more mundane tasks of everyday life.

    I need a personal assistant because I'm a single mother with no help whatsoever from anyone. I cook, I clean, I do the laundry, I pay the bills, I balance the checkbook, I shop, I drive, I work. Things can get pretty hectic and it would be nice to have a little assistance and a nice weekend staying at a Hyatt Place hotel.

    well… since I was diagnosed with breast cancer things have gotten a little out of control with keeping up with all of our paperwork – we're both college students with no income other than student loans so we have to file for financial assistance for everything from medical care to electricity to keep the lights on and each application takes a boatload of paperwork that has to be kept up. And I'd like to be able to spend a little more quality time with my baby girl and husband.

    I get so frazzled with everyday life trying to balane everything sometimes makes me feel like sitting in the middle of the house and just crying so if I could get a personal assitant for two whole months ohhhh boy I would be able to feel like I am just running in circles!!

    I need a personal assistant because there is just not enough time in the day to get all the things done that I need to get done, so I need some help. I work full-time plus at my job as Admnistrator over 2 care homes. I'm literaly on call 24/7 and I do get calls 24/7. On top of that, I'm a mom of 2 young boys ages 6 and 3. My 3 year old is special needs and has a lot of therapy appointments that he goes to during the week. Does not leave me much time to do my personal business like paying bills, cutting coupons, grocery shopping and so forth. The TaskUs.com personal assistant would be something that I would love to take advantage of, especially to help me complete my list of to do items that I never seem to get to such as planning a Summer vacation, updating my resume, job searching, selling some stuff I have that I don't use any more and starting a blog.     I thankfully do not have to balance work and motherhood, but I am balancing college and family. I would love a virtual personal assistant to help me keep track assignments for my classes (oh like the paper I have due on Monday, and totally forgot about), remember meetings with the kids teachers, days I volunteered to help out in a class or make a special snack.

    My motto is, “My life is bigger than my brain.” I'm a personal assistant (ironically) during the day to a manager of the Chicago courthouse. By night, I'm an actor and company manager of a non-equity theatre house. I'm trying to keep up on all the auditions in the area, maintaining my theatre ensemble's schedule, maintaining my boss' schedule, Oh, and scheduling my wedding. Did I mention that?

    I'm exhausted. I could use some help. Not to mention a nice stay at the Hyatt.

    I have twin boys with special needs that just turned 18. It's been a long journey. I could use assistance with all of the appointments they have been having including social security, lawyers & court dates for guardianship, neurosurgeons, back surgeons, neurologists & all of their special olympics events: track, swimming, basketball, tennis, bowling.     Today is a perfect example of why I desperately need a virtual assistant. I have been tethered to my chair most of the day.

    With every concert that I perform I have 20-30 people sign up to receive emails notices from Miss Lori's CAMPUS. I still haven't had time to input all of the ames form the 60 concerts I did last SUmmer alone! Plus I am writing a book for parents and a children's series fro kids. I have dictated some of my work, but need to have the notes transcribed. Not to mention all of the videos I have that need to be posted. Yikes. This one woman band needs a horn section!

    And when all that is done what I wouldn't give to have a glorious Hyatt hotel room to melt into and relax. It would be a new concept for me, but I think I could get into it.

    I need a personal assistant because last week, I:

    * forgot my daughter's 6-year pediatrician checkup
    * woke up at 3 am worried about all the things on my to-do list – and couldn't get back to sleep
    * got in fight with my husband because of all the piles of dirty laundry in the hamper

    Oh, wait, I guess a virtual assistant wouldn't help wtih the laundry. At least I'd get help with #1 and #2!

    As a single mom of two boys, ages 15 and 9, I need a personal assistant to help me keep track of my blog events, school event, family events and life!
