Celebrate Mother’s Day with a Family Day Out – Nestle Family Giveaway

May 7, 2010 By Melanie Edwards 352 Comments

Mother's Day

What do you normally do on Mother’s Day? Do you stay home and relax? Go out to eat?

This will be my 5th year celebrating Mother’s Day for myself; before that it was all about my mami. Of course, that means that I share the celebrations with my mom now. Usually, this means I do a little relaxing at home with my family and then visit my mother for the other half of the day. I think once we all went out to eat together. But, we’ve never really done a family day out for Mother’s Day. I think maybe next year I will plan a beach trip so we can all enjoy the wonderful May weather and both my mom and I can relax by the ocean.

To celebrate Mother’s Day, Nestle Family is currently holding a national giveaway on their site and also offering a giveaway for ModernMami.com readers.

Mother's Day sometimes I'll visit my Mom, but usually she just wants to relax that day.

Sometimes my husband will buy me a small bottle of my favorite perfume, but usually it's just the kids making me a really crappy breakfast (with love though! LOL), and some homemade cards 🙂

We also send out flowers to our paternal grandmother and at least a card to our “grandmother” in KY. My best friend also receives a card, and she has given us cards for being the Godmothers to her children.

Sadly, because I work at the hospital, I usually celebrate Mother's Day at work. BUT! My Dudes always give me a gift and take me to lunch or dinner or whatever my schedule allows for too. It sorta stinks, but people get sick everyday so it's just a part of the job. Would love to win this though!

We spent Mother's Day up in Santa Barbara after church. Lunch was great and the Sunny weather even lead to shopping AND a quick dinner on the way home! so much fun.
