The Big News

in Work

I just quit my job.

Seriously. I just handed in my resignation letter.

It feels good. And a tiny bit scary. But, I think that’s normal. It’s a big change for me. I’ve never quit a job without first having another.

So, here I am. Well not quite yet.

I still have some time at work before I am officially done.

But, soon. Soon, I’ll be done with my outside the home job.

I may be broke and eating Ramen noodles soon, but at least I’ll be working towards something. And, like my husband said last night, “There’s no one I’d rather be broke with.”

  • So will you be doing bloggy stuff fulltime? Whatever you do it will be fabu!
  • @oh amanda, Yes, I will. Freelancing, blogging, social media consulting, etc. Spread the word! LOL
  • YAY! This is huge! I am so so so happy for you. I know you've wanted this for a long time. Will you be consulting like we talked about or has that changed a little? I can't wait to hear how much you love it. How long do you have left at work?

    So proud of you, chica.
  • @Susan Payton, Yes. I have. I *will* be consulting and freelancing. Friday was my last day and so far I'm enjoying my 1st day at home! Thanks for your support.
  • Amazing. You are so fortunate to have the support of your hubby. That rocks! I'm proud of you.
  • @Mary@Everyday Baby Steps, Thanks Mary. I do have a good guy.
  • WOAH!

I realize I am MORE than a week behind here - but - again, WOAH!

I want to hear all about your plans!
  • @Miss Britt, I know...it's a pretty big change.
  • Wow - you made the big plunge! Congratulations! This should be an exciting time for you. Keep focused and don't lose faith in yourself.
  • @Nemedia, I sure did! Thanks so much.
  • Good for you!!!
  • @Laura, Thanks!
  • Congratulations! I did the same thing when my little ones were in 2nd and 3rd grade. For extra income, I worked around my family schedule and sold Discovery Toys in the home party method. You will find a way. Join my team in Orlando on Jan 2010 when the PowerTeam meets for training.
  • @Rosalinda Vargas, I'm glad that Discovery Toys has worked for you. You're right...I will find a way. Thanks!
  • Eek. Good luck! You're very brave -- but I know you'll do great. Plus, now you have this carefree weekend right?
  • @Jennifer, haha! Right. Thanks!
  • Wow! Good for you, it is scary and liberating all at the same time. When I quit my job the only thing I had lined up was a few months of renovations to our home. Then little man came and that changed everything. All the best to you in your endeavors.
  • @PJ Mullen, You're right. It is a bit liberating. Thanks.
  • it's leaps of faith such as you made that take women from being just moms to be extraordinary mompreneurs! follow that intuition.
  • @Quiskaeya, You know? I never saw it as a leap of faith, but I suppose you're right. I do hope it ends up being fruitful. Thanks so much.
