I’ve shared with you a couple of posts about our experience with the Chrysler Town & Country mini-van. First, I told you about our first camping trip and how the Town & Country helped. Then, I went over some of the features we loved about the Chrysler Town & Country. For this last post in the series, I thought it would be fun to ask my 6-year-old daughter what she liked about the van. I’d ask our baby boy too, but his 1-year-old vocabulary is a little limited.

I can say that both my kids had fun riding in the Town & Country. You could see they enjoyed sitting in separate bucket seats and having a space to call their own. Baby boy loved walking around the car – back and forth from the back where the third row of seats were folded down to his seat in the second row.

When I asked my girl to tell me why she liked the van, specifically, here are some of the features she enjoyed:

Touchscreen console: My girl told me she thought the radio up front was cool. Confused, I asked her to explain because I wasn’t understanding what was so cool about a car radio. Turns out, she liked that the navigation console was touchscreen.

Flashlight: The Town & Country has a small flashlight in the trunk area. We actually used it at one point during our camping trip when we couldn’t find our own. Apparently, she thought it was cool that a car came with its own flashlight.

Double DVD screens: Though this is not a standard feature, my baby girl thought the two DVD screens were nice because anyone sitting in the third row can more easily see what is playing.

Headphones: In the ceiling compartments by the DVD screens, were headphones the kids could use to listen to their show. That way, the driver and other passengers didn’t have to listen to the movie also, and could enjoy music for themselves. I find that little things like these matter to the little people.

Extra seating: Since both cars that we own only seat five people, my girl liked that there was an extra third row with more seats available. Of course, this is what makes a mini-van a mini-van, but for her, it was something new and exciting.

I love getting kids’ perspectives on things. It’s always fun to see what they think and listening to my girl describe why she liked the Chrysler Town & Country did not disappoint.

As I shared earlier, we recently took a Chrysler Town & Country mini-van for a spin and even went on our first camping trip with it! The van we were loaned had a lot of features and some upgrades since it was a mid-level Town & Country. But, most of the features come standard even at the basic level. You can play around with the different feature options and available packages on their site for more information.

I have to say that some of the Town & Country features really sell this van. You can tell the designers truly thought about the needs of busy on-the-go families. Here are a few of our favorites:

Stow ‘n Go Seating

The Stow ‘n Go feature of the Chrysler Town & Country is a super useful feature allowing you to fold down the seats in the second and third rows. But, you’re not just able to fold down the back of the seat – instead the entire seat folds down flat into the floor. You can fold down each of the second row seats individually and fold down either one, two, or all three of the third row seats.

We pretty much had the third row folded down the entire time we had the van, since we started with our camping trip and obviously needed the space for it. The rest of the week, I left them down and was able to enjoy more trunk space. We also played around and folded down the two second row seats, but left the third row up. This made for a nice space in the middle for the kids to sit and play, something that was extra fun for them!

DVD Player

For long car trips, a DVD player comes in handy, especially with our 1-year-old. We don’t use it for every car ride, but there are times when putting on a movie or TV show definitely helps to calm him down or entertain him. It’s nice to know that this feature comes standard, as most times you have to add it on. A second DVD screen can be added on as an upgrade, but a single DVD screen comes standard on the Town & Country. Cool, right?

Rear Back Up Camera

I am one of those people that has trouble seeing everything when backing up, especially in bigger cars. I blame it on the fact that I’m short. The rear back up camera was really useful to be able to see how close I was to objects or if anything was in my way.

Interior Conversation Mirror

This is a minor feature compared to the rest, but the little mirror you can drop down in the front overhead console was something I liked. It was nice to be able to see the kids in the back by just glancing up at the mirror. Even as a passenger, it was better to quickly look up at the mirror rather than turn around to see how they were doing.

I’ll be sharing one more post with you about our experience with the Chrysler Town & Country.
Last week, we drove a Chrysler Town & Country that was loaned to us by Chrysler. The day the van arrived, we headed out for our first camping trip ever. Great way to break in a new car, right? Hours after they dropped off the van at our house, we packed it up with our camping supplies, suitcase, cooler, and tons of other bags we needed to make a two-day camping trip with two young kids stress-free. After picking up our girl from school, we drove straight to Disney World and checked into our campsite.

Though I was hesitant to go camping and weary of how our first camping experience would go, I actually enjoyed our time. It was nice to have a little quiet and just hang out as a family. We grilled, roasted marshmallows and made s’mores with Chip and Dale at the campsite’s nightly campfire sing-a-long, and had a blast at the pool. Our quick two-day camping trip was full of fun activities and we’re actually looking forward to going back again. Who would have thought?

One of the nights, a frog was sitting right smack in the front of our tent’s entrance. You might not know, but I thoroughly despise frogs. They completely gross me out and give me chills, so even looking at one freaks me out. Having one in front of the tent made me run the other way! Thankfully, knowing how ridiculous I am about frogs, my husband found a stick and helped the frog find another spot to relax. He then said, “I made the scary frog go away – you can go in the tent now!” To which I responded, “Good! Because I was about to sleep in the van!” And, I would have…no lie.

The Chrysler Town & Country was spacious enough that we could have all slept in it and avoided the Florida heat. But, that would have defeated the purpose of going camping. This mini-van also fit all our camping supplies and helped us entertain and contain baby boy while we set up and cleaned up our camp. Otherwise, we would have been chasing him around and only one of us would have been able to actually set up. For our camping trip, it was definitely useful to have the Town & Country on-hand and helped ease our trip.

I have to say that neither my husband nor I have ever been mini-van fans. We’ve just never seen ourselves driving one. But, I can see why it’s a vehicle that many own and can even see it as a must for larger families. In fact, it seems that people do like the Chrysler Town & Country mini-van, so much so, that we ended up parking next to TWO other Town & Country vans on the last day of our Disney World visit.

I’ll be sharing two more posts about our experience with the Chrysler Town & Country. In a few days, look for info on the Chrysler Town & Country features we loved! In the meantime, if you want more information on the Chrysler Town & Country, check them out on Facebook, Twitter, and the main site.
