in Puerto Rico

If you haven’t heard, in a few days, we’re going on vacation to Puerto Rico.

Of course, we’ve planned several must-do activities and sightseeing. But, is it wrong that I’m planning visits to specific areas of the island just so I can grab up certain foods?

Foods that I’m Looking Forward to Eating in Puerto Rico

Bacalaitos

Alcapurrias

Relleno de Papa

Pastelillos

Quenepas

Chicharron y Pan Sobao

Coco Frio

Asopao

Naaaa….I didn’t think so either.

Now, go look up each food to see what it is if you don’t already know.

I though this would be relaxing, but at times I find it overwhelming...............saw you do the rellenos de papa segment. I have a relleno de papa blog coming up soon.......

OMG...No hay nada mejor que esto, llegar a Puerto Rico y lo primero es difrutar la rica fritura y las dilesiosas comida, Orgullosa de mi tierra Puerto Rico.
  • @Margarita, Es lo mejor! :)

A MI ME ENCANTA LA COMIDA DE MI ISLA LO MAS Q ME GUSTA ES LAS FRITURAS TANRICAS QUE SABEN Y LOS DARLES QUE MAS ME GUSTA ES LA SALSA
  • @ZEHEIDI, Las frituras son tan buenas verdad? Me encantan tambien!
  • I'm originally from Ponce, Puerto Rico and am extremely jealous of you now!! I haven't been back in almost 5 years and miss it dearly!!
    Have fun and eat well!
  • @Carmen, It had been 10 years since I had visited! Had a good time.
  • I don't know, man.. the relleno de papa looks AMAZING, and if the pastelillo is the same thing as a pastel like they have in Brazil, I'm completely jealous, mouth watering, dying for one right now. One with delicious meaty, cheesy gooey filling, and another chocolate and strawberry banana filled, with cinnamon sugar coating. Oh, deliciousness of the world. How I miss Brazil.
  • @Erica, I'm not familiar with those in Brazil. Our pastelillos (or empanadillas) come filled with various meats, or pizza filling, or cheese.
  • Looks good! I'd love to be able to try some authentic food from another country. I get so tired of eating the same old food here. Have a great trip - look forward to hearing from you when you get back.
  • @Tyler - Building Camelot, I don't know where you live, but you might be able to find some food in the area. I know here in Florida, we can find pretty much all of the above. But, yea, it's a little more special when you're eating it in the actual place, huh?
  • Jai
I love Quenepas!!! I think I'm jealous of your trip just for the Quenepas! Have a good time! I've been to Aguadilla it's beautiful little town. That's close to Mayaguez right? I love the Quenepas cold too. :)
  • @Jai, Yup Mayaguez is pretty close to Aguadilla. Do you mean cold quenepas like after being in the fridge a bit?
