Oh, ”¡Porque yo lo digo!” has turned into “cause I say so!” in our home too. I was full of good intentions, ready to explain my reasons and not become the dictator I thought my mom was in my childhood. But there is no reasoning with a stubborn child and no point in explaining “why” on the most minute things. So, yeah… so long good intentions. Sometimes a benevolent dictator is not such a bad thing.

I recently told my teen…’You won’t understand this until you’re older…” and I meant it, but as soon as I said it, I internally groaned because it is suuuuch a mom thing to say.
