Silvia, I’ve never been camping! To be honest, the idea scares me. LOL I’m not sure I’m meant to be so intimate with nature.

It sounds like you guys have fun, though! We need more family trips!!!

Our 2008 trip to Hawaii was just us too. We need an extended family trip and a trip just for us again, too. Ay, but, it’s hard to fit it all in, isn’t it?!

Those smaller trips help us too. It’s not the same, but it’s fun to get some mini-vacations in here and there.

It doesn’t mean Family vacation to us either I wish!!! We haven’t taken one I think since 2008 too, and it was only Derek and me, no kids, which is what we need the most right now. At least this summer I have several summer camps for Adrian which is different, I hope I can maintain camps for all his summers + do family travel, but not sure what will happen! It’s nice to know we’re not the only ones!!

Not to long ago my husband and I were talking about when was the last time we had a vacation, like real vacation, and it was almost 5 years ago when we went to Mexico. Since we need a real family vacation, this year we had decided to accept a friend’s invitation to go camping for 5 days. We are so looking forward to it. This vacation means no blogging, no answering the phone, no playing with cellphones, just plain play and exploration. Camping will also be very affordable since we will be staying in our tent.

I remember growing up, my parents took us every year to the beach, either Acapulco or Ixtapa in Mexico, i wish I could do the same with my kids, I will add it to my vision board…..

Summer means a vacation when we can afford it, which is definitely not every year. We take little day-trips or “staycations” when we can which makes us feel a little better, but nothing compares to going down to El Salvador for a week
