When I attended the Type-A Mom Conference this September, I had the opportunity to participate in a fashion show sponsored by dressbarn. Several speakers got to go shopping for our “perfect outfit” and then we all got to strut our stuff at the opening breakfast of the conference. It was a lot of fun!

I had never shopped at dressbarn prior to that and any time that I had entered the store, I had a tough time finding clothes I liked. I mean, even the name was a little odd to me. Why would you have the word “barn” in the name of a clothing store for women? It turns out, that the store originated when a lady back in the days (can’t remember what year exactly), used to make dresses and sell them out of her barn. Hence, dressbarn. Doesn’t that all make sense now?

With a staff member’s help, though, I was able to find lots of clothes I liked. It’s amazing what having someone else pick out clothes for you does! I asked her if she’d be willing to come shopping with me from then on, but alas, she lived in North Carolina, so that wasn’t going to happen.

Now that the holidays are here, dressbarn has provided me with a lovely black evening clutch that will come in handy for that Christmas party my husband’s job is having. Perfect timing!

    I have four holiday parties coming up and could really use a new clutch to liven up my holiday wardrobe. All of the bags I have are too “mom-ish” AKA huge and not cute as they hold diapers, wipes, snacks, etc. I need a fun going out bag, for these parties as its the only time of the year that I may actually get a chance to go out! LOL

    I have to say that I am an NEW Dress Barn Customer. I had a change in my lifestyle as of November 2007! I decided that I wanted to change the quality of my life by way of my eating and excercise habits. Prior to February 2009, I could not shop at Dressbarn because of the size I wore! As of today, December 14, 2009 I proudly sport a size 18/20! I have a new attitude, a new outlook on life, and a new wardrobe! Now I need a new clutch to accessorize the new me and the new look!!! As for my holiday plans, I will be attending a Christmas Ball (Black Tie Affair) and hopefully receiving an award!!!

    My holiday plans fell this last saturday, when I was my sister’s +1 for her work party. It was a bit awkward at first, with my not knowing anyone, but the catered food/desserts was DELICIOUS and the drink vouchers didnt hurt! ^__^
